What is Eat Boutique?

Maggie Battista started Eat Boutique as a blog in 2007, and sold out of her first gift box of handmade independent food in 2009. Eat Boutique has grown into an online magazine and gourmet market that discovers and celebrates the best small batch foods by boutique food makers. We curate seasonal and regional homespun gift and tasting boxes as gifts for food fans, and also sell our amazing discoveries individually for the home cook. With a team of global friends who also love food, we share easy recipes, inspiring food maker stories and guides to eating boutique in our favorite cities. We host intimate tasting events and convivial local markets for our favorite food makers, cookbook authors and small batch food fans, and hope to meet you at an event soon.

Who runs Eat Boutique?

Eat Boutique was founded and is operated by Maggie Battista. She runs Eat Boutique Shop and the original Eat Boutique Blog.

How do I buy an item?

Eat Boutique's shop is always open. Just pick an item (or two!) and follow the steps to check out. If you have any questions, please email us.

Do the products change in your gift boxes?

There are times when we run out of a specific food item. In those cases, we replace them with an equally delicious food item of the same value. We reserve the right to substitute products at anytime in order to ensure you receive the freshest possible food.

How does shipping work?

Please place all orders to unique addresses separately. Here's how shipping works:

  • We ship via UPS Ground to the lower 48 US states for a flat rate of $10 for all orders less than $150. Standard shipping time is typically 2-6 business days to most locations, and you’ll receive a tracking number via email when your order has shipped.
  • Shipping is free for all single orders to the lower 48 US states over $150. Your order will arrive within 2-6 business days from when we ship it.
  • We ship via UPS Ground from Boston, Massachusetts. All orders to the west coast do take 5 business days. If you are on a deadline, please do choose expedited shipping.
  • For guaranteed 3-day shipping, we add a $45.00 flat rate shipping fee at check out. Your order will arrive within 3 business days from when we ship it and we generally ship the next business day. (This rate does not apply during the December holidays or orders outside of the lower 48 US states.)
  • Eat Boutique ships Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

We ship all orders within 5 days from receiving your order, unless you're notified otherwise. Our food items are not immediately perishable, so they arrive fresh, delicious and ready to eat.

To where does Eat Boutique ship?

We ship anywhere in the USA. We’re happy to ship internationally, especially to our friends in Canada. Canadians should email us before placing an order to discuss the extra shipping fees.

Can I include a gift message?

Of course! In fact, we’ll hand write a beautiful message for you on a very sweet card. Just let us know what you’d like your card to say when you submit your order. If you do not input a message for your gift and are sending this box to someone other than yourself, we’ll simply say “To: your recipient” and “From: your name”. If you submitted an order without a message, but would now like one, please email us.

How can I check on my order?

You will get notification of your order via our system each step of the way. But if you’d like to check on your order, just email us.

What’s your return policy?

We strive to send only fresh, heavenly food items to you. However, if you’re unhappy with the food items in your box, just let us know and we’ll be happy to refund you or send out a new box. We’d simply ask that you let us know what went wrong so we can learn from your experience.

What’s your privacy policy?

We take this stuff seriously! If you sign up for the Eat Boutique newsletter or site, you can opt out at any time. When you shop at Eat Boutique, we will add you to our internal mailing list but you can unsubscribe at anytime. Please know that you won’t be emailed by the companies in each gift box and we will not sell your email address to anyone.

Do you have a disclosure policy?

Eat Boutique generally receives free product samples for items featured in our shop. In the case where Eat Boutique decides to write about a product in our shop on the Eat Boutique Blog, it was likely given to the author at no charge. But just so we're clear, Eat Boutique pays for all items sold in our gift box.

How do you moderate your reviews?

We welcome and really treasure reviews. But, please be polite and constructive when leaving a review. We reserve the right to delete any truly offensive, rude or spam reviews. Please do not try to advertise your product in a review because that will be promptly deleted. Sorry!

How do I get involved with Eat Boutique?
